In recent years, contacts between official Minsk and New Delhi have significantly intensified. During official meetings in 2016 and in 2017, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh decided to bring cooperation in the economy to a new strategic level, and official New Delhi even said that he considers Belarus to be a key partner in Central and Eastern Europe. One of the areas of cooperation should be the localization in Asia of the production of the flagships of our industry: MTZ, MAZ and Gomselmash.
Within the framework of the agreements reached at the highest level, a Belarusian-Indian business forum was held in Belarus on June 4, 2018, attended by representatives of more than 40 Belarusian enterprises and 15 Indian companies, members of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The forum was about promising areas of Belarusian-Indian trade and economic cooperation in various spheres of the economy. One of the priorities for discussion was the issue of cooperation in the field of tractor construction and the production of agricultural machinery. Belarus is seriously planning to increase supplies of Belarusian machine-building enterprises - BELAZ, Gomselmash, MTZ, MAZ.
After the end of the forum, representatives of Indian business circles visited a number of Belarusian enterprises, as well as the exhibition "Belagro-2018", where their first acquaintance with the products of the Smorgon Aggregate Plant, part of MTZ-Holding holding, was held. Guests from India showed great interest in the products of the enterprise. According to them, mini-equipment, due to its multifunctionality and a small price, is a demanded commodity in the Indian market of agriculture.
Yevgeny Stankevich, acting director of Smorgon Aggregate Plant, acquainted visitors with the model range of the plant's products. Seeing the interest shown, he invited Indian guests to visit the Smorgon Aggregate Plant on a business visit.
On June 8, 2018, representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry visited the open joint-stock company Smorgon Aggregate Plant.

During the visit, negotiations were held with the administration of the Smorgon Aggregate Plant, a visit to the production departments. Visitors got acquainted with the technological cycle of production of machinery, technical equipment and a quality control system.

As the mini-equipment produced by the enterprise aroused great interest, a presentation was held for them, during which the test drivers of the Smorgon Aggregate Plant demonstrated the capabilities of the mini-tractors and Belorussian motor-blocks in operation, and also provided the guests with the opportunity to operate the motor-block and mini -tractor.
The guests noted the high quality, multifunctionality and convenience in the management of equipment, as well as once again expressed the conviction about the demand for this equipment in the Indian market.
The result of the meeting was an agreement between the management of Smorgon Aggregate Plant and representatives of Indian business circles on the beginning of cooperation in setting up an assembly production of mini tractors and motor blocks in India, bringing the localization of production to 40%. This will avoid the obstructive customs duties on the products of our company and take advantage of the financial support provided by the Government of India.
Currently, the terms of the contract for supply of the first pilot batch of mini-equipment "Belarus" are being agreed.
